Marketing, Packaging & Export of Fruit – OlympiaStar
OlympiaStar, a company exporting oranges, mandarins, lemons, and other fruits from Western Greece, is based in Gastouni, Ilia, just a few kilometers from Ancient Olympia.
Equipment
The citrus fruit export company OlympiaStar has state-of-the-art equipment:
- New production line.
- Capacity to produce 200 tons per day.
- Refrigerated chambers with controlled temperature for fruit ripening.
- Fruit storage chambers.
Production line
The citrus fruits, fresh after harvesting, arrive directly at the factory premises. The fruit is transported in crates, and after washing, it is sorted, and unsuitable fruit is removed. This is followed by waxing and re-sorting. The sorter separates the fruit by size.
The method of packaging, either by hand or automatically, is selected by highly specialized production personnel, and the fruit is transported to special storage or refrigeration chambers to ensure optimal storage conditions and preserve the quality characteristics of the fruit, so that it does not suffer the slightest “deterioration” until it reaches the delivery location chosen by the customer and, of course, so that the fruit reaches the end consumer in perfect condition.
